On June 10, the kickoff meeting for the “Key Special Project—Differentiated Processing and Quality Enhancement Technologies and Equipment Development for Egg Products,” part of the “14th Five-Year Plan” National Key R&D Program—“Technological Support for Food Manufacturing and Agricultural Product Logistics”—in which Shendi Group is involved, was successfully held at Jilin University. Attending the meeting were Wang Jun, Director of the Industrial Technology Division of the China Rural Technology Development Center; Xu Firán, Project Mobility Officer; Professor Wang Shuo from Nankai University; Professor Ma Meihu from Huazhong Agricultural University, along with numerous other leaders and industry experts.

　　This project is led by Jilin University and jointly undertaken by industry-leading organizations including Hefei University of Technology, China Agricultural University, Jiangnan University, Northeast Agricultural University, Shendi Group, Guangdong Huatai Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Beijing Deqingyuan Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., Anhui Rongda Food Co., Ltd., and Heilongjiang Zhongnong Xinghe Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

　　At the kickoff meeting, Professor Wang Lifeng, Vice President of Jilin University, and Fu Daye, Director of the Rural Affairs Division of the Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology, delivered speeches. They expressed their gratitude for the attendance of the participating leaders and experts, and pointed out that the project team brings together leading “industry, academia, research, and application” institutions in China’s egg-processing sector, boasting strong technical capabilities and a solid working foundation. They assured that the team would work together to overcome any challenges and ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

　　The head of the special management team at the China Rural Technology Development Center delivered a speech, stating that differentiated processing and quality enhancement of egg products represent an important direction for value-added efficiency, industrial optimization and upgrading, and green development. They also serve as crucial means to help people achieve a higher quality of life and greater happiness. The team hopes that the project implementers and all sub-projects will strengthen their sense of responsibility and adopt standardized management practices. Furthermore, sub-projects should collaborate closely to tackle key challenges jointly, produce more outstanding results, and effectively address the practical issues encountered in the development of critical technologies and equipment for differentiated egg processing and quality improvement.

　　The project implementation and management plan briefing meeting was chaired by Wang Shuo, the leader of the expert panel. Five heads from different research teams each presented reports on their respective tasks, work plans, and management progress for the project and their individual sub-projects. The expert panel provided comments and advice on the implementation plans for the sub-projects, facilitating thorough communication and exchange among all parties to ensure the smooth execution and advancement of the project.

　　This is another national key project in which Shendi Group has participated, following its completion of the 13th Five-Year Plan’s major innovation project—“Research and Development of Key Technologies for Green Processing of Convenient and Nutritious Egg Products.” In this project, Shendi Group and Hefei University of Technology are jointly responsible for the sub-project task titled “Key Technologies for Sequential Separation and Efficient Purification of Egg White Characteristic Proteins and the Creation of High-End Ingredients.”

　　After more than 40 years of development, China’s egg industry has reached a relatively mature stage, with steadily improving overall production capacity. Currently, the egg industry is accelerating its transition toward large-scale operations, brand building, and deep processing. The ability to participate in the “14th Five-Year Plan” National Key R&D Program and successfully secure project approval as the leading unit stems from Shendi Group’s long-term dedication to green laying hen farming, advanced egg processing, and the comprehensive utilization of poultry egg by-products. Shendi Group has achieved closed-loop, high-value utilization across the entire industrial chain—from fresh eggs and egg powder to egg liquid, eggshells, and egg membranes. The company has been granted over 10 national invention patents for innovations in egg-processing technologies and equipment, and has repeatedly received prestigious national and provincial-level science and technology awards. Its specially developed products—such as Jingshan eggs, nutrient-rich specialty eggs, functional egg powders and liquids, eggshell-based fruit and vegetable cleaners, and lysozyme oral care products—have garnered enthusiastic market responses and are selling briskly both domestically and internationally.

　　In the future, Shendi Group will continue to deepen its expertise in areas such as green laying hen farming, sophisticated processing of egg products, and comprehensive utilization of poultry egg by-products. Leveraging its independently innovative core technologies and facilities, the group will support the smooth implementation of projects and accelerate the commercialization of technological innovations.

Wang Ling, a deputy to the National People's Congress and former Party Secretary and Executive Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, along with her delegation, visited and conducted research at Shendi Group.
