From June 24 to 25, 2025, the 2025 Brand Egg Summit and the 8th Yongjiang Forum were held in Nanning, Guangxi. This forum features a rich and diverse agenda, focusing on key issues of widespread concern in the layer chicken industry, such as disease prevention and control, feed ingredient market trends, and industry development trends. The event has attracted over 400 participants, including leading experts in the domestic layer chicken sector, representatives from local poultry associations, and industry elites from across the upstream and downstream segments of the value chain. Liang Jihao, former Deputy Director and First-Level Inspector of the Guangxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, delivered a speech. Zhu Ning, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Shen Shuibao, President of the Guangxi Feed Industry Association, each gave keynote presentations on “The Current Status of China’s Layer Chicken Industry and Prospects for 2025” and “An Analysis of the Development Situation of Guangxi’s Layer Chicken Industry,” respectively. They provided clear and accessible analyses of current and future development trends in the layer chicken industry across different regions, and clearly identified key issues that must be given special attention for achieving high-quality industry development.

During the keynote session, Professor Ning Zhonghua from China Agricultural University, Professor Zhang Anyun, a third-level professor at Sichuan University, Professor Wang Deyun from Nanjing Agricultural University, Senior Economist Wang Liaowei from the Decision-Making Service Division of the National Grain and Oil Information Center, Chief Scientist Wu Shugeng from the Poultry Nutrition and Feed Team of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Professor Huang Xianhui from South China Agricultural University each delivered presentations on the following topics: "Key Points in Raising and Managing Young Chickens," "Strategies for Controlling Bacterial Diseases in Laying Hens and Building Biosecurity Systems," "A Preliminary Analysis of Traditional Chinese Medicine-Based Integrated Prevention and Control Approach for Summer Laying Hens—Combining Pest Resistance, Gut Health Protection, and Stable Production," "Analysis of Supply and Demand Trends in Poultry Feed Raw Materials," "Diagnosis of the Causes of Watermark Eggs in Laying Hens and Related Prevention and Control Strategies," and "Key Technical Points for Rational Drug Use in Laying Hen Farming under the New Normal of Antibiotic-Free Practices." These presentations precisely addressed the pain points in industry development and offered numerous solutions and fresh perspectives.

The event also featured two roundtable forums, during which representatives from upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain shared their valuable practical experiences and discussed new opportunities for the development of the layer chicken industry. At the roundtable forum titled “Youthful Blue-Green Relay: Innovating the Egg Journey,” Yang Fengfan, General Manager of Shendi Group, Hu Xinyue, Executive Director of Shunbao Agriculture, Qin Lisi, Co-founder of Guifa Xiansen, Dong Pingtian, Deputy General Manager of Pengchang Group, Li Kunyang, General Manager of Xiaohonghua Food, Shen Peng, General Manager of Zhongmu Agriculture, and Lei Yu, General Manager of Mingshi Agriculture, engaged in an in-depth dialogue on topics such as egg processing and value-added services for eggs in China.

“Innovation is the core engine driving the sustainable prosperity of the layer chicken industry.” Yang Fengfan, General Manager of Shendi Group, shared at the forum Shendi’s innovative journey in the deep-processing of egg products—from focusing on human health to expanding into pet health. He highlighted “Papa Meng,” a pet health brand founded in 2023 under the Shendi Group, which leverages egg-source technology and adheres to human-grade standards in selecting raw material formulations and processing techniques to provide comprehensive nutritional support for pets. He stated, “Shendi has always been consumer-centric, deeply cultivating the full-chain transformation and application of functional nutritional components derived from eggs, actively developing new forms of productivity in the egg industry, and contributing to the high-quality development of the egg industry.”
