Technology-led, innovation-driven! Wu Jun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, along with his delegation, conducted a research visit to Shendi Group’s work in scientific and technological innovation.

On April 28, Wu Jun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, along with Su Lihua, Deputy Director of the Rural Affairs Division of the provincial department, visited Jingshan to conduct an on-site investigation into science and technology innovation efforts. Yang Yan, Chairman of Shendi Group, welcomed Deputy Director Wu Jun and his delegation, accompanying them on a tour of the Shendi Jingmen Black Feather Green-Shelled Egg Chicken Germplasm Resource Farm and the Shendi Egg Products Deep Processing Base in the Jingshan Economic Development Zone. They also held a symposium at Shendi Group’s headquarters in Jingshan with the research team.

Wang Zhan'ou, Director of the Jingmen Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Jin Xueqing, Deputy Director, He Hongtao, Mayor of Jingshan City, and leaders from relevant departments accompanied the delegation on the visit.

Visit Shen Di Group
Yang Yan, Chairman of Shendi Group, welcomed the visit of Deputy Director Wu Jun and his delegation. He accompanied them on a tour of the Shendi Jingmen Black Feather Green-Shell Egg Chicken Germplasm Resource Farm and the Shendi Egg Products Deep Processing Base in the Jingshan Economic Development Zone. They also held a symposium at Shendi Group’s headquarters in Jingshan with the research team.
During the field investigation at the Shendi Jingmen Black Feather Green-Shelled Egg Chicken Germplasm Resource Base, Deputy Director-General Wu Jun and his delegation listened to reports on the project’s planning and construction as well as its industrial development. They also conducted further detailed inquiries into the project’s development prospects and the challenges it faces.

During a research visit to the Shendi Egg Products Deep Processing Base in the JingShan Economic Development Zone, Yang Yan, Chairman of Shendi Group, provided a detailed introduction to the group’s integrated, circular, and high-value utilization development model spanning the entire industry chain, as well as the company’s scientific and technological innovation achievements and its latest developments. By leveraging the synergy between academia and industry and driving technological innovation, Shendi Group has continuously refined its R&D outcomes, steadily enhanced production efficiency, and significantly boosted the added value of its products. While boosting enterprise profitability, the group has also played a vital role in stimulating local economic growth.
After the on-site visit and research, a symposium was held in the conference room on the second floor of Shen Di Group. At the meeting, Wu Jun expressed full recognition of the Jing Shan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government’s high regard for and active promotion of scientific and technological innovation; he praised Shen Di’s innovative blueprint for leading future development; and he issued important instructions on the next phase of scientific and technological innovation work in Jing Shan City.

Wu Jun stated that technological innovation must be strategically planned for the long term, actively implemented in the present, and poised to secure future success. JingShan City should take the opportunity presented by its designation as a provincial-level innovative county-level city to deeply implement an innovation-driven development strategy. First, we must strengthen the leading role of enterprises as the main innovators. Enterprises are the driving force behind technological innovation; therefore, we need to further enhance the deep integration of industry, academia, and research led by enterprises, accelerate the construction of enterprise R&D platforms, continuously improve the level of industrialization, and foster and incubate more high-tech, high-value, and high-growth science and technology enterprises locally—just like Shendi. Second, we must vigorously pursue flexible talent recruitment efforts, closely aligning with the actual needs of enterprise development and broadening talent acquisition channels through multiple avenues to attract urgently needed and specialized talents who are in short supply. Third, we must optimize services for enterprises, strengthen policy support, focus on helping enterprises solve practical problems, continuously boost their innovative vitality, and continually achieve new breakthroughs in serving market entities and promoting industrial development.
