On the afternoon of June 16, He Shiping, Secretary of the Party Group of the JingShan City Science and Technology Association, and his delegation visited the Egg Products R&D Center of Shendi Group for a research and exchange visit. Professor Ma Meihu, Chief Scientist of the R&D Center, and other staff members accompanied the delegation throughout the visit and extended a warm welcome.

The two sides held a working seminar to discuss the progress and outcomes of the R&D center’s efforts in translating research findings into practical applications. At the meeting, Professor Ma Meihu introduced the basic information about the R&D center, as well as its recent achievements and gains in areas such as technological innovation, commercialization of research results, talent development, and collaboration on key R&D projects. For nearly 20 years, Shendi Group has been deeply engaged in the sophisticated processing of egg products and the R&D of functional health products derived from eggshells and shell membranes. The company has established several national-level specialized R&D platforms and has been approved as the “National Egg Processing Technology R&D Center” by the Ministry of Agriculture. It has also jointly set up with Huazhong Agricultural University the “National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Egg Processing Technology.” Furthermore, the company hosts enterprise workstations staffed by academicians from both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, placing its R&D capabilities among the leading ones in the domestic industry.

The project leaders from the R&D center provided detailed reports on the progress of their research projects and the commercialization of research findings. They also gave a thorough presentation and explanation of EggSource Technology’s flagship products, such as Eggshell Fruit & Vegetable Cleaner and Eggshell Membrane Collagen Peptides. At Shendi Group, egg resources are being fully developed and utilized. Currently, the company’s product portfolio covers multiple categories, including health foods, household cleaning products, functional health supplements, daily chemical care items, and pet food. By addressing the issue of waste and underutilization of poultry egg byproducts, the company has significantly enhanced the added value of egg processing, thereby achieving green and high-value development.

After listening to the briefing, Secretary He Shiping gave full recognition to the work of the Shendi Group’s Egg Products R&D Center. He asked with great interest about the center’s current operational status, the challenges it is facing, and its future research directions. He pointed out that the Shendi Group’s Egg Products R&D Center boasts abundant talent resources, a strong and promising market position, and a positive and proactive research platform. It should further tap into its internal potential, make good use of its platform advantages, and push technological and scientific innovation to even higher and deeper levels—oriented both toward science and toward the market.
