Seven poultry and egg product enterprises in Hubei Province form a joint venture to integrate the industry chain and go public.

To transform our province from a large agricultural province into a strong agricultural province, the Hubei Province Poultry Industry Association has actively responded to the call of the provincial Party committee and provincial government. Led by its president unit, Hubei Shendi Agricultural Science & Trade Co., Ltd., the association has brought together representative enterprises from Hubei’s poultry and egg product industry—including Yichang Tianyou Huamu Technology Co., Ltd., Hubei Shuanggang Agricultural Science & Technology Trade Co., Ltd., Hubei Yuxiang Livestock & Poultry Co., Ltd., Hubei MinDa Agricultural & Pastoral Development Co., Ltd., Hubei Xinhua Ecological Livestock & Poultry Development Co., Ltd., and Xiangcheng District Fengchu Breeding Farm—to form the first batch of core enterprise consortium for the poultry and egg product industrial chain. This consortium integrates all aspects of the industry, including breeding stock production, feed processing, chick rearing, layer hen farming, egg processing, poultry slaughtering, and organic fertilizer production.

Led by its president unit, Hubei Shendi Agricultural Science & Trade Co., Ltd., the association has brought together such representative enterprises in Hubei’s poultry and egg product industry as Yichang Tianyou Huamu Technology Co., Ltd., Hubei Shuanggang Agricultural Science & Trade Co., Ltd., Hubei Yuxiang Livestock & Poultry Co., Ltd., Hubei MinDa Agricultural & Pastoral Development Co., Ltd., Hubei Xinhua Ecological Livestock & Poultry Development Co., Ltd., and Xiangcheng District Fengchu Breeding Farm, forming the first batch of core enterprise consortium for the poultry and egg product industrial chain—a comprehensive cluster covering breeding stock production, feed processing, chick rearing, layer hen farming, egg processing, poultry slaughtering, and organic fertilizer production.

　　These seven core enterprises have total assets of 835 million yuan and a total output value of 1.5 billion yuan. Among them, three are national leading enterprises in agricultural industrialization—accounting for 60% of the total number of national leading enterprises in the poultry and egg products industry in our province. Their egg exports generate over 60% of Hubei Province’s total egg export earnings. They also hold one national new poultry breed, two national poultry genetic resources, five academician and expert workstations, four national high-tech enterprises, and one national innovation platform. They possess 104 national patents, including 20 national invention patents; one first-class award for scientific and technological progress from Beijing Municipality; one first-class award for technological invention from Hubei Province; one Hubei Province SME Innovation Award; two third-class awards for scientific and technological progress from Hubei Province; three Hubei Province key leading enterprises in agricultural industrialization; and two “hidden champions” in specialized sub-sectors within Hubei Province.

　　The integration efforts involving the seven core enterprises have received attention, care, and support from leaders of the provincial Party committee and provincial government, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Provincial Agricultural Development Center, the Jingmen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the Jingshan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and other relevant departments, which have also provided meticulous guidance on numerous occasions. Currently, the integration work is underway in full swing, and a law firm is conducting due diligence on the enterprises.

　　Recently, seven core enterprises have successively held integration promotion meetings in Wuhan, Jingzhou, Jingshan, and other locations, signed a concerted action agreement, and designated Yang Yan, Chairman of Hubei Shendi Company, as the concerted actor. They also finalized the new company’s name—Hubei Qishang Food Technology Co., Ltd.—as well as related matters such as the registered capital and equity proportions. The plan is to comprehensively complete the enterprise due diligence and register the new company by the end of June 2021.

　　Recently, we have engaged in in-depth discussions with Hubei Grain & Oil (Group) Co., Ltd. and have reached an agreement in principle to have Hubei Grain & Oil (Group) Co., Ltd. take a controlling stake in a listed platform for the Hubei poultry and egg products industry chain. We plan to carry out a mixed-ownership reform involving state-owned and private enterprises to accelerate the company’s path to going public.
